Collaboration Circle: Innovation with AI in Entrepreneurship

Purpose and Goals 

We have witnessed how in the recent years AI has become a powerful tool significantly changing work processes in many sectors of the economy. At the same time, AI not only questions the effectiveness of technological solutions used until its appearance and the qualification requirements for specialists involved in work processes, but also creates significant new entrepreneurial opportunities, causing a rethinking of existing business models.

The task that the participants in the event are expected to solve as a team is to generate and defend their original entrepreneurial ideas for the use of AI as a basis for the creation of new enterprises with high growth potential – startups. The use of AI tools in the generation of these ideas and the discovery of entrepreneurial opportunities as an argument for the protection of ideas is a mandatory element of teamwork.

Dates, Times and Session Structure

Session 1: Confirmation of participation and Launch of the team collaboration 

Session 2: Pitching the entrepreneurial ideas developed by the teams

Each team will be given five minutes for pitching their ideas at front of a jury (minimum three members by UNWE plus one member from a member of ENGAGE.EU whos students are taking part in the event) plus five minutes for Q&A.

Session 3: Award Ceremony

The first three placed teams will be given time to present online and in presence (in case of UNWE) their entrepreneurial ideas at front of a broader audience and to receive their awards.

Methodology and Approach 

For the Pitching Session the duration needed will be based on the number of the participating teams as 10 minutes per team will be scheduled. The assumption is that the end number of teams would be between 10 and 12 and 45 minutes for the Award Ceremony.

The details about structure, content and presentation will be provided under the form of practical assignment upon registered interest or in direct communication with Assoc. Prof. Kostadin Kolarov, PhD (kkolarov@unwe.bg).

Application 

To apply for the Collaboration Circle you should provide:  

  • University affiliation (department and role)
  • Students will need to provide their matriculation number
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Short motivation letter (max. 300 words) explaining interest in the activity and relevant experience

All documents must be submitted in English.

Selection 

Each university is responsible for the selection process internally, within given deadlines.
