An UNWE Graduate Was Appointed Interim Prime Minister of Bulgaria
A graduate of the University of National and World Economy heads the interim government appointed by the President Rumen Radev Decree of 9 April 2024. Dimitar Glavchev holds master’s degree in International Economic Relations and Accounting from UNWE. He is a Chartered Accountant and a registered auditor of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He has more than 30 years of professional experience in auditing, financial control, and accounting. He is a Bulgarian economist, accountant, and politician.
Two of the ministers in the interim government are also graduates of UNWE – the Minister of Finance Lyudmila Petkova and the Minister of Economy and Industry Petko Nikolov.
In its 104-year history the academic staff and graduates of UNWE have been prominent scientists, statesmen, prime ministers, ministers, members of parliament, politicians, ambassadors, representatives of the state government, business and the non-governmental sector, representatives of our country in prestigious international organizations and financial institutions, mayors, public figures, businessmen, bankers, etc. They have established themselves as leading decision-makers whose knowledge and competencies were key to solving societal challenges and impacted the country’s development.
