About the ENGAGE.EU Online Student Competition
The ENGAGE.EU Student Competition is a unique online event designed to bring together students from all nine partner universities to explore the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on society. The competition is organised by the ENGAGE.EU Board of Learners (BoL) and offers students the opportunity to engage with key societal challenges while showcasing their creativity and academic skills through multimedia submissions.
Topic : The Role of AI in Shaping the Future of Society
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming every aspect of our lives—from the way we work and communicate to how we make decisions as a society. This competition invites students to explore the profound impact AI is having on society and its potential future role. For example, they could choose one among the following topics to further develop:
How can AI contribute to sustainability and addressing climate change?
Explore how AI can support global efforts to combat environmental challenges, such as optimising energy usage, reducing waste, and advancing clean technologies.
What are the potential risks of AI in terms of privacy and data security?
Consider how AI’s increasing use in data processing impacts personal privacy, and what measures could be implemented to mitigate these risks.
What role does AI play in healthcare innovation and accessibility?
Examine how AI is revolutionising healthcare, improving diagnostics, treatments, and overall access to medical services. What are the challenges in ensuring equitable access to these advancements?
What are the long-term implications of AI on human employment and job creation?
Discuss how AI might displace certain job categories, while also potentially creating new forms of employment. What are the skills that future workers will need to adapt?
