Workshop on the Academic Needs of Practitioners
Last Tuesday, 22 June, the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) hosted a key ENGAGE.EU workshop aimed at identifying the academic needs of practitioners in the light of societal change.
The workshop took place on Zoom and was the first in a series of activities which will lay the foundations of ENGAGE.EU’s short courses linked to microcredentials — our compact learning modules open to practitioners.
A total of 11 colleagues took part in the event, which was facilitated by Dr. Tore Hillestad, Acting Director of NHH Executive. A short introductory lecture on megatrends in society and industries by NHH’s Prof. Helge Thorbjørnsen kicked off the discussions.
The workshop continued with groupwork and plenary discussions focusing on the target groups of the short courses, the competences and skills required by practitioners facing societal changes (such as changing demographics, new technologies and climate change), and also important aspects of course design and delivery modes.
