ENGAGE.EU Grant Desk meeting
On Tuesday, 15 November 2022, the Research Office from Luiss organized an online session about opportunities and experiences regarding research funding. The event was part of a series of meetings organized in the context of the ENGAGE.EU Grant Desk. The Grant Desk brings together funding experts from seven universities within our University Alliance to map funding schemes and share potential funding opportunities to professors and researchers.
The session was structured around the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and served as a platform to discuss selected European funding programs and to share experiences with grant applications. Furthermore, it provided a chance for colleagues from the different universities to meet each other and eventually lay the foundations for new joint applications to calls of common interest.
The meeting – which was attended by 16 participants from six ENGAGE.EU universities – started with an introduction by Research Office (Luiss), followed by a presentation by Catarina Guzzo Falci (Tilburg University) on the ENGAGE.EU Grant Desk. Then, Giovanni Vassallo – Research Office (Luiss) and Grant Desk member – introduced selected funding opportunities related to SDG16. You can find a copy of these presentations here. This was followed by the presentations of Rosario Forlenza – Professor of Comparative History of Political Systems and former Marie Curie Fellow – and Valentina Gentile – Professor of Political Philosophy. The guest speakers described their experience in applying to international SDG16-related funding opportunities on behalf of Luiss. The presentations were followed by a brief interactive session, in which participants were asked to share their views, ideas and experiences in relation to grant applications.
If you would like to join or organize a session like this – to hear from researchers and funding experts about application to funding programs – do not hesitate to get in contact with the ENGAGE.EU.
