Board of Learners vice chair, Xavi Rodriguez, participated in the first European Universities Student Ambassador Forum 2024

The first European Universities Student Ambassador Forum (EUSAF) took place from September 12th to 14th at SGH Warsaw School of Economics, in Poland. EUSAF is a platform for students from European Universities Alliances to share their views, experiences, and ideas on the current and future state of higher education in Europe. Its aim is to foster student engagement, identity, and a sense of belonging within and across European Universities Alliances, as well as to provide input and recommendations to EUAs and other stakeholders.

Xavi Rodriguez, vice chair of the ENGAGE.EU Board of Learners and student at Ramon Llull University, was one of the participants.

The Forum was structured around workshop sessions in which the student ambassadors could work, debate and share their ideas, challenges and best practices surrounding key issues related to their European Universities Alliances.

“I loved these sessions” explains Rodríguez “because they really addressed our interests; in fact, before the EUSAF was celebrated, we were all asked what topics we thought would be useful to address, and those were actually used to design the forum”.

These workshops included sessions to share information about each university alliance, to reflect upon topics like the role of student ambassadors or how to foster local engagement. The forum also included spaces for networking, cultural activities to discover Warsaw, and different activities to share outlooks and opinions.

“It was fun, and also very useful!” says Rodríguez “There were great synergies between all the participants, and, in fact, I got many interesting ideas that I’ll present to the BoL and ENGAGE.EU Local Coordinator… That was actually the best thing of EUSAF: we shared issues, we all worked together, and we collaborated to find solutions!
