Creating Solutions for Digital Transformation: Summer Seminar of the Joint Programme 2026
The summer seminar of the ENGAGE.EU Joint Programme in Digital Transformation is the highlight of an innovative and intensive semester each year. From 6 to 10 July 2026, 37 students from eight ENGAGE.EU partner universities once again gathered at the host University of Mannheim to spend a week exchanging ideas with corporate partners and working on real-life case studies.
During the summer semester, the participants had already gained in-depth knowledge through several virtual block courses. Working in interdisciplinary teams, they put this knowledge into practice by working on real-world case studies. In collaboration with several ENGAGE.EU partner companies, this resulted in practise-oriented project work that offered opportunities for intercultural exchange, networking, and a varied social programme. The event also provided further insights into German culture.
After a successful week of collaboration, the 37 students presented their case study solutions and received their certificates at the closing ceremony. Their enthusiastic feedback at the end of the week once again emphasised the value and the lasting impact of the programme.
The University of Mannheim hosted the summer seminar for the fourth time, allowing it to build on existing structures, which led to efficient and sustainable organisation. Going forward, however, the seminar will rotate among other ENGAGE.EU partner universities. In 2027, it will take place for the first time at Ramon Llull University in Barcelona, Spain.
The summer seminar remains the highlight of the ENGAGE.EU Joint Programme in Digital Transformation—it offers students a unique opportunity to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges, collaborate across cultures and disciplines, and build an international network for the future.
