Networking is often perceived as uncomfortable, transactional, or something reserved for extroverts. In reality, networking is about building authentic professional relationships that create opportunities for learning, collaboration, mutual support, and career development.
This interactive workshop helps students develop a more confident and constructive approach to networking. Participants will explore common networking challenges, examine the attitudes and assumptions that can hold us back, and learn practical techniques for initiating professional conversations both online and in person. Through reflection exercises, discussions, and hands-on practice, students will strengthen their ability to present themselves professionally and build meaningful connections.
During the workshop, students will:
- Explore the purpose and value of networking in career development.
- Challenge common misconceptions and networking anxieties.
- Learn how to approach networking with curiosity, generosity, and a growth mindset.
- Develop and practice a concise personal introduction (networking pitch).
